What a way to finish the short course season! The recent Swimming Australia SC National Championships, aka Sydney Sprints, was Head Coach Cameron’s last meet with the Warringah Piranhas before he headed up North to St Peter’s Western.
But it was not going to be a quiet meet for him or the swimmers. We had 14 impressive senior swimmers on our Team to show the world what they’re made of. Our senior Piranhas competed in 43 individual events, 6 relays and 29 finals over the 4 days and nights of competition. With 25+ PBs under their belts and 5 Bronze medals, our team earned 9th place in the final point score ie, 9th in Australia!! Woo hoo! Huge congratulations to all the swimmers and your well deserved achievements in A Finals, Age Finals and B Finals.
Congratulations to Macy Beuzeville for breaking her own NSW & NSW All Comers 15 Years SC Girls record (set a few weeks ago at NSW SC Senior State) in the 1500m Freestyle in a time of 16:49.41. These two times along with her SC Metro time have put Macy in the top 5, three times this season in the Girls Top 25 Australian Rankings for the Season.
Congratulations to Remy Lennon for earning a Bronze medal in the Mens 200m Individual Medley. Remy also made the A final in the 400m Individual Medley. Our other “A” finalists include Matt Harris, Clare Robertson and our youngest competitor Gemma Sellick.
